Hey it's a poetry mashup, and it seems to work!
================================================!!

Family Time:

All my life's a circle
Sunrise and sundown.
The painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on a carousel of time

Children are a fleeting phenomenon.
Unable to communicate, yet too short in our arms.

Infants cry, we sigh and comply.
Toddlers Crawl, and yet we cry.
The Moon rolls through the nighttime
Till daybreak comes around

All our live's a circle
And still we wonder why?

The years go spinning by my friend
And still we wonder why.
Toddling turns to school-time
And quiet becomes the norm

Our sweethearts start to grow up
And we need to start pulling away

And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind

Skate Wheels turn to car wheels
And graduation comes too fast

Before we know what happens,
We've been hit right in the "rear"

Toddlers first learn how to talk
And we have years of nonstop chatter
Then they become teenagers
And all conversations stop.

We can't return, we can only look
Behind, from where we came.

Graduation, and then college follows
And spouse and kids come all too soon
When did we become the old fogies?
And when did we start aching there too?

Seems like I've been here before
But, I just can't remember when

We can't return we can only look
Behind from where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when youre older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it wont be long now
Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
Therell be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

2) CIRCLES

Harry Chapin © 1974

Chorus:
All my life's a circle
Sunrise and sundown
Moon rolls through the nighttime
Till daybreak comes around
All my life's a circle
Still I wonder why
Seasons spinning 'round again
Years keep rolling by

Seems like I've been here before
Can't remember when
I got this funny feeling
We'll all be together again
No straight lines make up my life
All my roads have bends
No clear cut beginnings
So far no dead ends

Chorus

I've met you a thousand times
I guess you've done the same
Then we lose each other
It's like a children's game
But now I find you here again
The thought comes to my mind
Our love is like a circle
Let's go 'round one more time

Chorus

Don't think of it as sad.

It's a way of life.

We (as parents) know that we'll eventually be required to give up and release our little chicks into the wild.

It's very difficult to understand, and yet release our dear ones and let them fly on their own.
Yet we have to.

'cause That's the only way they can
ever grow up.

So, when we (parents) say, you have it easy, maybe because its because we nevr had ipods or computers, or even VCR's and Tivo's.

PS: I wrote this because I have one (daughter) in college, and one getting ready to start spreading his wings.

but not because I was sad...

Time for you to get me a APM request from one of your english teachers!
